Your roles: On the final day of the performance i chose to perform in many roles including helping setting up, cable bashing, camera operator, vision mixer and interviewer I chose these roles because i feel as if i can perform well in these roles and too my full potential and that i will help with the group when i am working in these roles.
How they are intrinsically linked to the rest of the production:
Cable Bashing: The cable basher might be classed as a rubbish role in the industry although it can be one of the most important with helping people setting up there equipment by getting there cables also with helping them set up you will begin to learn techniques.
Camera Operator: The camera operator is key for the vision mixer and the director because as a camera operator you will be asked to get certain shots of the performers and also even if not asked you can try and get a shot that will help out with director when filming.
Vision Mixer: As the vision mixer i believe you have to have excellent hand eye co-ordination because sometimes you have to keep an eye on whats being filmed also you will need to act quickly and as efficiently as possible when the director tell you to swap and change from shot to shot. Being organised too will help because you can't stop and change things when you are already in action especially when you are filming live performances.
Interviewer: The interviewer will have to overcome so tasks that he/she wasn't prepared for also to ask questions to the band members and find out about them and get a view from what they think and how it all went.
All other roles you did not work on: There are a number of roles that i did not work on simply because i felt as if i lacked in experience such as roles like: director and floor manager i didn't feel confident in and with it being such a big day makes me nervous on performing something i am not totally confident in. We also couldn't work on the audio of the bands because the college already did that although we had our own audio from the interview room which i never had a go of either.
How they are intrinsically linked to the rest of the production:
Director: The director probably has the hardest job because he will have to control everyone both on stage, on the floor and the vision mixer this means that he will have to stay calm an direct people on what he/she wants to do.
Floor Manager: The floor managers job is too keep everything on the floor sorted and to listen to what the director wants, also the floor manager is there to keep the performers happy and content such as bringing them water if needed.
Audio For Interview: Because the audio for the bands was set up there was only need in setting up audio with the interviewing this was important because the its useful to hear what the presenters are saying
How you aided the production and what difficulties you overcame: I believe that i helped everyone on the 17th because there was many times that i acted as the runner to run from the gallery to the floor to pass on information from the director to the floor manager when the talkback wasn't working. I also helped out with the wires and setting up the equipment also with being in early i helped lifting and bringing in the heavy equipment from the van onto the floor where then people could begin setting up. Whilst operating the cameras i kept offering the director shots when i wasn't on live to help vary the shots, in order to become a interviewer you need to be confident in front of the camera too this is why i chose to be the interviewer for a few of the interviews because its a good thing to have an interview and i don't mind acting in front of camera. Some of the difficulties that i had to over come mainly came when on the vision mixer because i needed to change the acts names on the tricaster also because of having more cameras than what the tricaster can view halfway through the live streaming had happened i had to change over one of the BNC cables from the front of the tricaster.
What you would do differently if you were to repeat this project: If i was to repeat this project again i would put myself up for being the floor managers because now after its all finished i feel as if i could fill that roll meanwhile in the heat of the moment i didn't think i could have done it because the pressure because i like to rehearse the roles, also i believe i would have made a better vision mixer if i rehearsed it more. I would also have more cameras on dollies because it looks more like a music show if the cameras move round more.
