Script For Comedy On The Streets

Comedy On The Streets

Hello and welcome to comedy on the streets, i am Matthew Jump and i am here to talk to you about comedy on the streets of Manchester and whether there is a wrong time to tell jokes or can it fun all day everyday!

Today i will be taking you through different types of comedy there are out there and how you can become a comedian would like to. I am not a comedian although i love to make people laugh and believe that its a great thing to do and i would maybe like to look into doing at some point so this VT will both help me and you after all my dad always did say that i had a face for comedy.

Today i will be interviewing from a special guest who was the runner up in a comedy competition and also i will be interviewing students from Manchester Universities about what makes them laugh.

Back To Me On Camera

Professional comedians are brilliant at making people laugh and most of there work is scripted and done on stage this technique can be very difficult because it all depends on the mood of the audience why reverts back to my main question "Is There A Wrong Time For Comedy?"

Interview With Andy Lee

I am here with Andrew Lee, he competed in young comedian of the year and came runner up, Hello Andy first of all:

How did you get into the competition?
What was the experience like for you?
Why is comedy is important?
What is your favourite type of comedy?
Who is your favourite comedian?
Do you think there is a wrong time to tell jokes?
Is it good to get into comedy at a young age?
What's your favourite joke?

Interview On The Streets

What do you do/watch to make yourself laugh?
Have you ever thought about trying comedy?
Do you know any places where you can try comedy?
Is there a wrong time for comedy?
What is your favourite joke?

Voice Over

Even though not many people know it, but there are lots of places in Manchester where young people can go to try out comedy if that interests them. What people dont realize is that all famous comedians and comedy actors had to start somewhere and most of them started by doing stand up routines at open mic events at pubs and clubs.

In Manchester there are places such as:
Castle Hotel – Which has an open mic event every Monday
Lass O Gowry – Which is a pub that has open mic event also on a Monday
Town Tavern Hall – Open mic on a Wednesday
There is also a number of places where you can go and watch comedians that have been performing live for a while which you will have to pay for but is a brilliant experience if you want to go somewhere for a good old laugh.
The Comedy Store Manchester – Arches 3 and 4 Deansgate Locks, Whitworth Street, West, Manchester, M1 5LH
The Frog And The Bucket – 102 Oldham Street, abobo (abidjan), Manchester, Greater Manchester M4 1LJ
Comedy Balloon - THE APE & APPLE, 28 John Dalton St, Manchester, M2 6HQ
